DAA Racer Magazine Pouch by Double Alpha Academy

In 2011 we introduce the all aluminum Race Master Magazine Pouches, the first of their kind. Their innovative design is so different from other model pouches, that all who used them were instantly fans.

However, their one shortcoming is their high price tag... A $60 pouch is not affordable by all, especially when you consider that you need 3 or 4 of them on your belt. So we set out to develop and produce a plastic molded version of this same winning design, and we are proud to introduce the all new DAA Racer Magazine Pouch, the perfect mate for the DAA Racer Holster!

The DAA Racer pouches borrow heavily from the Race Master Pouch. In fact, we took the very same body design, modified it to suite plastic mounding requirements, while maintaining the exact same unique “pressure from the back” adjustable holding system that has proven so successful. Interchangeable inserts allow you to go from larger 2011 mags to smaller CZ/Tan mags. A third pressure spacer is included for Glock and M&p mags.  A single stack spacer is available as an accessory as well.

The pouch is completely ambidextrous, allowing easy mounting for left hand or right had users. And you can even mount the pouch at 90deg away from the body, just as you can in the RM version.

The belt-hanger of the pouch utilizes the same minimalist steel plate design, which eliminates separation between your inner and outer belt. The belt hanger has been simplified though - there is no ball joint as in the aluminum RM pouch, as that could simply not be realized in plastic in this size. However, the pouch can be adjusted for tilt in very small steps, allowing each shooter to find the right angle for their preference. Once the correct angle is set, and the centre screw tightened, the serrations in the connector piece lock up, preventing any possibility of the pouch rotating until the centre screw is loosened several turns.

While these pouches may not offer the unique look and feel of the all aluminum Race Master pouches, or the ball joint tilt base, they are robust and durable, and the performance you can expect is very bit as good as that of it big brother.

And with a price tag of a little over half the Race Master pouches, the Racer Pouch will be the prefect choice for many.

Note: Will not fit Large Frame Glock (eg. G20/21) or .45 HK magazines

The Racer Pouches will only fit 1.5" belt systems (will not fit Safariland 1.75" belts).

  • Bullet nose out (Ben Style) and bullet nose forward (conventional) mounting option
  • Works with Double Stack Mags
  • Available Colors : Black, Red, Blue, Silver, Pink
  • 3.3 oz approximate weight

    Great Product

Have no issues using these pouches so far. Did have to drill holes in the thin side to mount them bullets out, but not a hard thing to do. Isn't 100% necessary, but easier to tighten them down to run that way. I have used them on Glock mags, Sig P320 mags, and now CZ mags and with the different inserts, I was able to get all to fit and release just fine.

Great pouches, but may need a minor modification...

Posted by Scot on Oct 30th 2018

I have the racer pouches for my Glock mags in production. When I switched from bullets forward to bullets out I had an issue with dragging the leaf spring tension plate out with the mag on occasion. It was a simple fix to drill a small hole in the bottom of the plate and loop a very thin zip tie through it and around the pouch mount on the belt. Zero issues since and nobody would ever notice they were there if you didn't flip my belt upside down and look. Overall a great quality pouch which I recommend to anyone.

    Pretty good

Posted by Chris on Jul 16th 2018

Overall they are pretty good and I'm happy with them. The molds and materials used seem to be good quality along with the brass inserts. Only reason I gave them 4 stars is due to the cheap hard ware provided which is very "IKEA-ish" and the fact that I had to machine the the adjustable magazine pads. They provide and assortment of different pads to fit all kinds of magazines. Unfortunately my OCD kicked in and I could find a retention I liked on my Mec-Gar SP-01 mags. So I just threw them on the mill and machined around .065" off the largest pad they provided. Now they work like a charm!

    Works great

These things work great. No need to spend the extra money for the fancy version. I got these for my glock 34 mags. They are easy to set up and simple to adjust the tension.

excellent for production and carry optics

bought for Walther PPQ mags. Fairly easy to install the spacers and the adjustments work perfectly. Adjustments are such that magazines can be seated loose or firm and when firm are quite secure when running. Returned a previous order of mag pouches for credit and customer service was great--got an immediate credit.

    Worth the premium

I used one of these a month ago, and loved it so much that I came home from the match and ordered 4 more to fill my belt. The mounting system makes for no separation between the inner and outer belts, which is great. The blade-tech pouches I was using previously left a big gap and had a tendency to shift, which meant I had to adjust them before every stage. Adjusting these to bullets-out is simple, but my only complaint is that you need to drill a hole in the side in order to make accessing the screw easier. The Racemaster includes this hole already, and I'd like to see DAA add that feature to this pouch. That's the only thing that keeps this from being a 5-star product.

used these in a match this last weekend and they worked great! Loved the versatility and comfort of them on the belt! I was also impressed with how fast they shipped. Ordered them on a Friday and they showed up on Wednesday! Customer for life!

I wish i had bought these from.the start.

Great mag pouch/holder. I wish i had someone to tell me about this style from the start. These are very affordable, even not being to high end aluminum one's. These are great for mid level shooters in both USPSA and 3 Gun.

Great design - puts a lot of faith in you to locktite

Posted by HumbleMarksman on Apr 17th 2017

The design for this product is awesome. When it's dialed in and adjusted correctly - and locktite'd (this bits important)- they're my favorite pouches I've tried. If you go bullets out you'll need to drill a small hole to get the wrench in to clamp the pouch to the belt mount - just go ahead and do this out of the gate, don't mess around 1/6 a turn at a time some of the time. The acorn nut and bolt that hold on the side spacer when you go bullets out will come loose and walk out with use. It took a 6 year old with a flash light to retreive these pieces, and they don't send extra! So that said, the product is fantastic when you have everything tightened down like it's supposed to be. Docked a star for not standing up to this idiot initially.

    Great holster for the price

Posted by Raymond on Oct 17th 2016

I was having issues with retention of other holstet while running doing transitions. They used to fall when I was running or grabbing a magazine. This holster keep retention very well while doing fast transitions.

    Work great

I'm using these in USPSA with my S&W M&P Pro 9mm. Also a lefty. These work as advertised. You get 2 side plates and 3 tensioner plates with each holster. M&P mags seem to sit in between the medium and thickest tension plates. You either need to use all of the adjustment screw or none at all depending on what plate you use. I went with the thickest to leave me some leeway to adjust tighter if the spring wears in. I'm happy with the tension fit and they are smooth on the draw. Appreciate as a left hander that you give up nothing when swapping them over. The tension wheel is still accessible as if you were a righty.
