I ended up sanding down the hammer-end of the pin enough so that it is just barely more exposed to the hammer than the factory pin. This was because that at its shipped length, it protrudes quite a bit from the firing pin hold where the round primer sits. This would almost certainly result in a drop fire if the weapon landed on the hammer. Once you sand it down, it no longer protrudes, but is still longer than the factory pin which is what I wanted.
