The inside holster design provides extra protection in addition to the dense foam lining, and prevents any accidental fumbling or dropping of the pistol when removing it from the bag.

OK, but difficult to fit full size semi auto
Purchased this for a sig320 x5. It was very difficult to get the handgun to fit into the internal holster, which meant that the grip was basically right up along the edge of the case, and not really centered. This is due to the internal holster being a bit too narrow. I ended up cutting the stitching on the holster, making it more like a clam shell protective flap. Handgun fits fine now. The zipper is also not as heavy duty as I'd have expected, and it's not the dual lockable zipper style. You can lock the zipper to one of the plastic rings used to connect the separate carrying strap. Overall, not terrible, but would not buy again.
