Shop shock buffers for 1911 and 2011 pistols for competition, training, and custom recoil system setups. Shock buffers are installed as part of the recoil system and provide a cushioning layer between components as the slide cycles rearward.
Commonly called shock buffs or shok buffs, these small recoil-system components are popular in many competition and high-round-count 1911/2011 setups. They are available in different materials and configurations and can be replaced periodically as they wear during use.
Shock buffers are not appropriate or compatible with every 1911 or 2011 configuration. Adding a buffer can reduce available slide travel and may affect cycling or slide-lock operation in some pistols. Always verify compatibility with your specific guide rod, recoil system, slide travel, and pistol configuration, and regularly inspect buffers for wear or damage.
