How to use the Hundo Case Gauge by Shockbottle

Below are detailed instructions for properly using the 100-Hole 9mm Luger HUNDO Chamber Checker/Cartridge Case Gauge:

Before You Begin

  • Clean and Inspect: Ensure the HUNDO is free from debris, dirt, or oil that might interfere with accurate gauging. A light wipe with a clean, lint-free cloth is generally sufficient.
  • Work in Good Light: Adequate lighting will help you quickly identify any rounds that do not meet the required dimensions.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Load the Gauge:

    • Hold the HUNDO flat on your work surface.
    • Carefully drop each 9mm Luger round, projectile-first, into an empty hole. The cartridge should slide in smoothly without force. Fill all 100 holes or as many as needed for your current batch.
  2. Check for Proper Fit:

    • Once your rounds are in place, visually inspect them. Each cartridge’s case head should sit flush or just slightly below the top surface of the gauge.
    • If any round protrudes above the gauge’s surface, it may be out of spec—either due to improper sizing, bulged brass, high primers, or other dimensional issues.
  3. Identify and Remove Defective Rounds:

    • Set aside any rounds that do not fit flush.
  4. Unload the Gauge:

    • To remove your checked rounds, invert the HUNDO over a soft, clean surface or a reloading tray and gently tap or shake it.
    • All properly sized rounds will drop out easily. Avoid excessive force—if any cartridge sticks, double-check its condition.
  5. Store or Box Your Ammo:

    • Your dimensionally correct rounds are now verified and ready for boxing, storage, or immediate use at the range.

Care and Maintenance

  • Regular Cleaning: After repeated use, clean the HUNDO with a soft brush and a mild solvent if necessary. Ensure it is completely dry before storing.
  • Handle With Care: Protect the gauge from hard impacts or drops, which could affect its dimensional accuracy.

By following these instructions, you’ll ensure that every round you put through the HUNDO is properly gauged, helping to prevent feeding and chambering issues in your firearm.
