This is a precision ground gauge set that fits RL 550 and XL 750 priming systems. It aligns the Dillon Primer Magazine Tube to the Primer Slide Assembly. Stops flipped primers, skipped primer pick up, random primer feeding problems … and the dreaded "flying primers"!
No More Adjusting the Primer System Blindly.
Just insert the Alignment Gauge down the Primer Magazine Tube and check the Primer Slide for proper alignment with the Primer Housing/Shield Housing. Adjustments as little as 0.005" can improve the reliability of RL550/XL750 type priming system. This Primer Alignment Gauge makes precision adjustments easy.
- Made from custom ordered, precision ground tool steel ±0.001″ of SAMMI primer spec and 260 brass rod.
- Extra-Long (4″) Gauge Rods ensure that it remains aligned within the Primer Magazine Tube and the Primer Seating Cup.

✓ Works on RL 450, RL 550B/C, XL 750 and Mark 7 Primer Systems.
✓ Works on the RL 1100 as it now features an "Adjustable Primer Slide Rear Travel Alignment Stop Set Screw" (See User Manual page 69 Items 3 and 5 and photo on page 29.).
✗ Does NOT work on RL or Super 1050 Primer Systems because they do not have a rear travel alignment stop set screw.
✗ Does NOT work on the XL 650 Primer System.
? It should work on the SDB Primer System as it has an "Adjustable Set Screw Stop" at the primer pickup position (see top of page 18)..
How To Use †
1) Insert Primer Magazine Alignment Gauge into empty Primer Magazine Tube Assembly.
2) Lower Operating Handle.
3) The Primer Magazine Alignment Gauge should drop about 1/8″ into the Primer Seating Cup.
4) If the Primer Magazine Alignment Gauge doesn't drop or binds, adjust the Slide Pickup Adjustment Screw.
5) Repeat test from Step 1 to confirm proper adjustment has been achieved.
