I had never used pro-grip until 2 weekends ago. My coach handed me his nearly empty bottle (we shared what was left with high fives before each stage), it dried my hands out great on 2 very hot days. Just bought 5 bottles for me and my coach and Ben's shop had the best price!

I used to use some DIY grip a friend would make. It didnt work as well, but it sure smelled good and turned your hands casper white.... ooooh that mint extract goodness. This stuff smells OK I guess, but locks your hands into the gun for sure. Function over form sometimes.... It will definitely mitigate your form over function, super slick, open gun hotness that tries to buck out of your hands like a wild stallion. Speaking of wild stallions, Ben Freaking Stoeger uses this stuff, and he's a decent shooter, so you should use this stuff too.

this is the first product of this kind i've tried. so i don't have experience to compare it to others. i used it yesterday at an indoor range when my hands became sweaty. i wiped the damp off my hands, then applied this lotion. i think i put too much on at first, but it did dry quickly. and it worked very well. i am surprised at how dry my hands remained for another hour or so. it does leave a little white dust on the gun and mags. but it wiped off easily. so far, so good.

don't confuse this with your regular lotion, you might end up having a rough fun time. I shoot single stack and the only way i can keep the recoil down is this baby. Just don't confuse this with your everyday lotion you might use for fun time, like i did =(
