What is the Docter / Vortex footprint?
The Docter/Vortex footprint, often called the Burris FastFire footprint, is one of the most common mounting standards for open-emitter red dot sights. It is characterized by two locating pins at the front of the optic and two screw holes. This pattern is shared by popular optics like the Vortex Viper/Venom and the Burris FastFire series.
Will this plate allow my sights to co-witness?
Due to the design of the AOS system and the height of most red dots that use this footprint, this plate is not designed to co-witness with the factory-height iron sights on the Prodigy. For a backup aiming solution, you would need to install taller, suppressor-height iron sights.
