Evolution Gun Works (EGW) has been manufacturing precision firearms parts and accessories in Pennsylvania since 1992. EGW does not import, cast, or rebrand — every EGW part starts as solid billet or bar stock of American-sourced steel or aluminum, machined to tighter tolerances than factory MIM components. For 1911 and 2011 builders, competition gunsmiths, and hunters, EGW is the reference standard for American-made precision parts.
EGW's core product line — precision-machined 1911 and 2011 internal components and frame parts that outperform factory MIM alternatives under sustained high round count competition use:
EGW has built out a dedicated Springfield Prodigy parts category — including the HD Machined Tool Steel Magazine Catch and Prodigy-specific ignition kits. If you're running a Prodigy in competition, EGW is one of the few parts manufacturers with a dedicated Prodigy lineup.
EGW distributes ISMI springs — the gold standard in competition magazine and recoil springs. Available for 1911/2011 platforms in multiple weights.
EGW produces over 170 pistol red dot mounting plates, organized by both firearm platform and optic footprint — covering Docter, Leupold DeltaPoint/Shield RMSC, Trijicon RMR, Holosun, and more across 35+ pistol manufacturers. These dovetail-mounted plates allow red dot installation on existing slides without milling — an affordable, reversible solution for adding an optic to a pistol not originally cut for one.
A significant portion of EGW's business is precision scope mounts and Picatinny rails for rifles — particularly bolt-action hunting and precision shooting platforms. Available in three tiers:
EGW internal components — hammers, sears, disconnectors, thumb safeties — are intentionally machined slightly oversized for hand-tuned, match-grade fit by a qualified gunsmith. These are not drop-in parts. EGW provides complete installation guidance and technical support. Critical safety components must be verified by a competent gunsmith before use.
