This Apex Optic Mount is designed to securely mount ACRO Footprint optics to the GLOCK® Gen 6 Optic Ready slides. This Mount is machined from a steel billet and finished in black PVD for enhanced corrosion resistance. The mount and screws are manufactured by Apex in the free state of Arizona. 

The Damper is placed in the cavity under the front of the mount to dampen vibration and close the light gap between the mount locking key and the slide. 

Expected Results: 

• Specifically for use with slides featuring the GLOCK Gen 6 Optic cut. 
• Securely mount an ACRO footprint optic to the factory GLOCK Gen 6 slide. 
• Two 4mm x 0.7 Mounting screws included in the package (High-Temp Thread Locker patch pre-applied) (Torque screws to 15 in-lb) 
• We recommend the slide be cleaned before the mount is installed. 

Why Steel vs Aluminum: 

We get this question all the time.  A slide on a modern 9mm pistol experiences approximately 3000g of acceleration per shot. Aluminum optic mounts are simply not suited to handle that much force.  In our early mount testing, we sampled 6061 and 7075 aluminum for optic mounts, but found that the rails tore off the mount base after just a few thousand rounds.  Reliability is everything in optic mounts, so we opted for steel for all slide-ride optic mounts.
