Wolff Gunsprings — Recoil, Magazine & Striker Springs for Competition Pistols

W.C. Wolff Company has been manufacturing precision gun springs in the USA since 1920 — over a century of spring engineering for competition, military, and law enforcement applications. For competition shooters, Wolff springs are the standard reference for tuning recoil function, magazine reliability, and trigger feel across virtually every major pistol platform. Ben Stoeger Pro Shop stocks the full Wolff competition spring lineup for Glock, 1911/2011, CZ, S&W M&P, Sig Sauer, Tanfoglio, and more.

Load-Rated Recoil Springs

Wolff's load-rated recoil springs are available in specific pound ratings — not just "standard" and "heavy." This lets competition shooters precisely tune the recoil function of their pistol to their ammunition power factor, gun weight, and personal preference. Each load-rated recoil spring pak includes an extra power firing pin spring. Available in conventional and variable power designs for most platforms:

  • Conventional recoil springs — single-rate spring for consistent compression throughout travel. Standard for most competition applications.
  • Variable power recoil springs — progressive rate spring that starts light and progressively stiffens through travel. Softer initial movement, firmer at full compression. Popular for Open division and compensated guns.
  • Recoil Calibration Paks — multiple spring weights in one purchase for systematic tuning. Start with factory weight and work up or down to find the ideal rate for your ammo and setup.

Platforms: Glock, 1911 full size, 1911 Commander length, 1911 Officer length, CZ-75, CZ-75 Compact/P-01, S&W M&P full size, Tanfoglio, and more.

+10% Extra Power Magazine Springs

Wolff's +10% extra power magazine springs improve feeding reliability in high-use competition magazines — particularly important in extended magazines with basepads where the additional length can reduce spring force. Available for S&W M&P 9mm and .40/.357 magazines. Pair with a solid guide rod (Wolff solid guide rods sold separately — required for use with Wolff recoil springs on M&P pistols).

Reduced Power Striker & Firing Pin Springs

Reduced power striker and firing pin springs are a common competition trigger tuning upgrade — reducing firing pin spring weight contributes to a lighter overall trigger pull when combined with other action work. Available for:

  • Glock — reduced power striker spring for all Glock models. Intended for competition use only, not duty or carry.
  • S&W M&P — reduced power striker spring rated at 4 lbs (factory is 5 lbs). Competition use only.
  • 1911/2011 — firing pin springs included with load-rated recoil spring paks

M&P Guide Rod Note

Wolff load-rated recoil springs for S&W M&P pistols require a solid guide rod — the factory M&P captive guide rod assembly is not compatible with Wolff replacement springs. Wolff solid guide rods are available separately and should be ordered at the same time as your recoil springs.
