The Warrior Gen 1 Optic Cut uses the same mounting pattern as the Kimber Legacy Optic Cut found on earlier optics-ready Kimber 1911 pistols. These Gen 1 plates are also compatible with Gen 2 Kimber Warrior pistols, making them suitable for either generation when the specific plate and optic footprint match your setup.
Kimber's newer Gen 2 Warrior optic cut incorporates compatibility with the earlier mounting pattern while also supporting newer Gen 2 plate designs. Because of this, compatibility is not equal in both directions: Gen 1 plates can be used on Gen 2 pistols, while Gen 2 plates should not automatically be assumed to fit Gen 1 pistols.
