Too heavy a spring causes muzzle "nose dive," slowing your sight picture recovery between shots. Too light a spring can accelerate wear and damage to your pistol. Each spring is color-coded for instant identification, so once you find your ideal weight you can reorder with confidence.
Note: recoil springs should be matched to your specific ammo. Running a spring that's too light with hot ammo can cause premature wear or damage.
