Grams Engineering — Competition Magazine Follower & Spring Kits

Grams Engineering makes one thing: competition magazine follower and spring kits that give you more rounds in your magazine. Their tagline says it best — "An Extended Advantage." By replacing your factory follower and spring with a Grams kit, competition shooters typically gain +1 to +2 additional rounds of capacity in 140mm extended magazines — rounds that can mean the difference between finishing a stage and running dry.

How Grams Kits Work

Factory magazine followers are designed for reliable function at factory capacity. They're not optimized for maximum capacity with extended basepads. The Grams "Format C" follower has a different geometry — a thinner profile and more efficient taper — that allows one or two additional rounds to stack in the same tube length. Paired with Grams' tuned competition springs (available in 11-coil and 13-coil lengths for different magazine lengths), the result is a magazine that runs at the highest competition capacity reliably.

Platform Compatibility

Ben Stoeger Pro Shop stocks Grams Engineering kits for the following platforms:

  • CZ Small Frame — CZ-75, SP-01, Shadow, Shadow 2 (factory and Mec-Gar tubes). 11-coil for mags up to 145mm; 13-coil for longer extensions. Typically achieves 22-23+1 rounds with 140mm extensions.
  • CZ Large Frame — Tactical Sport, TSO, Czechmate. 11-coil (145mm) and 13-coil (146-171mm) options.
  • Sig Sauer P320 / P250 — 11-coil for standard 140mm setups. Typically achieves 23 rounds with Taran Tactical or Henning basepads.
  • STI / SV / SPS 2011 — 11-coil for 140mm; 13-coil for 140mm with extended basepads or 170mm Open magazines. Same follower works in both STI and SV tubes. Features unique locking system to keep follower from separating from spring.
  • Tanfoglio / EAA — follower kits for Tanfoglio competition magazines
  • Para Ordnance — follower kits for Para double-stack magazines
  • Springfield — follower kits for Springfield platform magazines

11-Coil vs. 13-Coil — Which Spring?

  • 11-coil: For 140mm magazines with flat or low-profile basepads. Standard competition choice for Limited and Carry Optics.
  • 13-coil: For 140mm magazines with extended basepads (7mm, 8mm, 11mm extensions) or 170mm Open division magazines. More spring force for longer tubes.
