New "Patent Pending" Limited Optics 9mm Competition follower

MBX has developed a New follower design for all other factory-style tubes: Springfield, Staccato, SV Infinity, Checkmate, Atlas. We use our same proven square bottom 11 coil competition spring that has performed flawlessly with millions of rounds. The new follower was developed and tested over 2 1/2 years as the follower need to help factor extended141.25 mm tubes to hold 24 rds and present the Bullet fast while keeping the bullet nose up in order to assure feeding from the first shot until the last round.

FYI

The follower and spring are designed to sit lower in the magazine than factory follower this is by design to stop any slide contact when the last round is fired because the competition follower will not contact the slide stop obviously the follower needs to sit lower. BE SURE TO FULLY LOAD MAGAZINE 3-4 times when New to Set the spring to its working length and avoid the follower getting hit by the slide damaging the spring and shoving the follower into the feed ramp. NOT A GOOD START!

Reload your own ammo!

Ammo recommend specs for reliability 2011

FYI Do not run short OAL or wide Crimp this is a performance killer Flat Nose projectile is not recommended Round nose is King

OAL 1.155 to 1.165

Crimp .372 -.374 max

Be sure all primers are seating correctly in pockets

I like to use the Lee crimp/seating die with carbide ring as it will straighten and projectile then crimp works great.

MBX is not responsible for the quality and problem solving of other manufacturers tubes and feeding. We have provided a proven spring and patent pending follower that will perform if the tubes/ammo are good. Some manufacturers tubes may have “soft feed lips” that will open out easily or bend if dropped. Other factory tubes may require additional adjustment “tuning” in order to perform correct this is not the responsibility of MBX.

Specs for Competition

We used these in testing for over 15,000 rounds! We do not want to cause any “controversy” with the magazine “tuning gurus”. This is what Adrian who designs all our magazines used in testing.

9mm generic specs, we can only suggest, is the front feed lips which needs to be less narrowing .005-.007 of the rear lips. For Example, rear measures .345 front to be set .340-.338. All 9mm ammo idk 1.145-1.165 max, crimp factory specs "very important" crimp around .372 we really only round nose .38 super comp max oal 1.255.

Springs/Followers

If design is good it will work with very little pressure. Do not get all concerned because the spring lost length! It will!

The Spring we use on these Competition Kits not new. It has presented millions of rounds flawlessly over the last 10 years. Replace your main magazine springs every 6/8 months if re regular use but adjust if you shoot more or less that average 2-3 matches a month.

Follower 3D Printed

MBX Followers are made from a specific blend of material 2E have developed for this purpose and are 3D printed. If you are against the look or simply the ideal and feel this is not for you then please do not purchase. Remember the facts are MBX has been the most innovative company in the Magazine Business for Reliability, Performance, and Capacity which part of that is Developing Innovative 3D Follower Designs that Simply can not be effectively injected molded.

ATTENTION!
Before Inserting Magazine Into Firearm

New MBX competition follower & spring sets need to be loaded 4-6 times to capacity preventing follower popping out when new , insuring spring set and the follower sits down in tube when new, this avoids any slide contact and damange to spring and follower voiding warranty as the competition follower is NOT held down by the slide stop and has minimal surface area , the competition follower is designed once spring is set to sit 1/4-3/8 below top of feed lips thus avoiding damaging slide contact with follower once magazine is empty.
