What are the differences in the Belt Mount Options?

We offer a few options for belt mounts on the Boss holster. The standard aluminum belt plate will come with all of the holsters regardless if you choose one of the options mounts.

The Safariland QLS Belt Mount work with the QLS Receiver.

You can quickly swap holsters when using the Safariland QLS system. This option includes the fork only.

How to do mount a Safariland QLS Fork or Receiver?

The versatile Boss Holster Hanger is designed to offer multiple mounting options for the Safariland QLS system. It facilitates the attachment of the Safariland QLS Fork to the long plate that is included in the kit, thereby eliminating the need for any additional parts or unique configurations.

For those seeking a flexible mounting solution that allows for easy swapping of holsters while keeping the hanger firmly attached to your belt, we offer the Safariland Y-Plate option. With this, you can conveniently mount the Safariland QLS Receiver to the Y-Plate, as demonstrated in the photographs below.

This powerful combination of utility and adaptability makes the Boss Holster Hanger an essential tool for enhancing your holster mounting experience.

How to Install

1) Remove existing screws and spacers between long plate and Y plate. If you already had a holster mounted, try using the same screw placements as a starting point, otherwise set it up in the middle and adjust later.

2) Attach Ball plate to Y plate using flathead screws. If the ball is assembled to the socket, loosen the clamp to release the ball. You will need a Y plate with countersunk mounting holes (most are, if yours is not we have them here) to locate the ball plate over holster pouch screws.

3) Stick the ball in the socket and lightly tighten clamp with clamp screws so ball moves with a little drag. (If you removed the clamp all the way, it should be installed with the bevels matching)

4) Attach Socket with ball and Y to Long plate. If you do it before clamping the ball into place, you may find the long plate screw blocks the clamp. Use the same holes you used before or the center curved slot to start. Arrange the clamp screws towards the belt end of the long plate for easier adjustment. If you need a little more tilt away from your body, you can reverse the socket plate so screws are downwards although this increases risk of lost parts and unplanned holster plummets.

5) Tighten clamp screws so ball movement requires some force. Adjust to preference and rules.

6) Tighten the clamp screws to lock ball movement. You can use lots of force on these screws (torque max TBD, but they will hold a couple thousand pounds each).

7) Test it. If you are super happy with where everything is, you can add some loctite or superglue through the small notch in the socket to coat the ball and fix it in place.

#1:
Attach Y-plate to holster body through three large holes on the Y-plate using short round-head screws
#2:
Attach Y-plate to slotted hanger plate using long screws and spacers (do not install lock washers yet). Screw heads should be on the rounded side of the hanger plate, one screw in a center hole and the other in the corresponding curved slot.
#3:
Hold belt inside belt plate cutout and install onto main hangar plate with 4 flat-head screws, solidly mounting holster and hanger to belt.
#4:
Test location of holster with unloaded firearm. Adjust to preferred height and tilt by changing screw positions on the main hangar plate and Y-plate. Verify position meets rule requirements
#5:
Mark position of long screws lightly with a pencil and then remove and re-install the long screws with a lockwasher underneath the screw heads. Apply threadlocker to all screws.
