This grip weight is fully CNC machined from a brass alloy. The preinstalled nylon grip plug holds the assembly together while helping create a cleaner reload path into the magwell.
The SSI Brass Grip Weight places additional weight inside the grip and closer to the shooter’s hand. This can help improve the pistol’s balance, reduce felt movement during recoil, and make it easier to track the sights or red dot during rapid fire.
CUSTOMERS WITH MAGWELLS: The brass weight stops at the magwell fastener hole. Some magwell mounting plugs may require fitting or modification to provide clearance for the brass slug. Customers have successfully flat-sanded the magwell mounting plug until it lightly contacts or clears the installed weight. Modification requirements will vary depending on the pistol and magwell being used.
USPSA Competition Information:
The maximum allowable firearm weight in the USPSA Production Division is 59 oz with an empty magazine inserted.
The maximum allowable firearm weight in the USPSA Carry Optics Division is 59 oz with an empty magazine inserted.
IDPA Competition Information:
This brass grip weight is not legal for IDPA competition because IDPA Rule 8.1.7.2 prohibits add-on weights that have no legal operational function other than adding weight. The nylon grip plug by itself may be permitted where allowed by the applicable division rules.
