Canik Competition Parts & Upgrades — TP9, METE, Rival & SFX

The Canik TP9 SFX, Rival, and METE series have become among the most popular platforms in USPSA Carry Optics — excellent factory triggers, optics-ready slides, and high magazine capacity at a price point well below comparable competition pistols. Ben Stoeger Pro Shop stocks the complete Canik competition upgrade ecosystem: trigger spring kits, magazine extensions, follower kits, and springs to maximize your Canik's match performance.

The 24-Round USPSA Carry Optics Setup

The most popular competition magazine configuration for Canik TP9 SFX, Rival, and METE pistols:

  1. Start with a factory Canik 18-round magazine tube
  2. Add the Henning +4 extension or Taylor Freelance +4 basepad — brings total to 22 rounds at 140mm (USPSA Carry Optics legal)
  3. Upgrade the follower with the MBX Ultra Max Spring & Follower kit — achieves 24 rounds with the extension installed
  4. Note: the MBX Ultra Max follower does not provide slide lock on last round — this is by design for maximum capacity in competition use

BSPS stocks all three components of this setup. The Canik 24-Round Magazine Kit combines the factory magazine tube, Henning extension, and MBX follower kit in a single purchase.

Trigger Upgrade — Sprinco TSK Kit

The Sprinco TSK Competition Trigger Spring Kit is the most impactful single upgrade for the Canik TP9 SFX, METE, and Rival series — reducing trigger pull from ~4.5 lbs to 3.5 lbs with a crisper break and faster reset. Compatible with all Canik TP, METE, and Rival variants including Rival-S and Subcompacts. For competition use only — not for duty, carry, or self-defense.

Installation notes:

  • Replace the striker spring when using US-manufactured 115 gr target loads
  • For lighter loads (115-135 gr): use YELLOW recoil spring
  • For heavier loads (145-160 gr): use YELLOW or WHITE recoil spring
  • Polish the safety plunger and check slide pocket for excess Cerakote before installation

Platform Compatibility Notes

Canik produces several distinct pistol families — not all accessories are cross-compatible:

  • TP9 SF / SFX — the original full-size competition Canik. Taylor Freelance +4 basepad fits SF and SFX. Factory 18-round magazine tube.
  • TP9 SF Elite / Elite Combat — compact variant. Taylor Freelance +4 also fits. Verify extension compatibility with compact frame before ordering.
  • Canik METE series — updated platform with improved ergonomics. TSK kit compatible with all METE variants. Henning extension compatible.
  • Canik Rival / Rival-S — dedicated competition model. Henning +4 extension brings 18→22 rounds. Rival-S extensions with steel detent locking available. TSK kit compatible.
