What are the differences in the Belt Mount Options?

What are the differences in the Belt Mount Options?

We offer a few options for belt mounts on the Boss holster. The standard aluminum belt plate will come with all of the holsters regardless if you choose one of the options mounts. Something to consider if you go with a non-standard belt mount you may want to go with a shorter Offset Spacer like the 1/4" to stay withing the USPSA rules.

The Boss Standard Belt Mount is included with all orders.

This belt plate is cut for a standard 1.5" competition belt (DAA, CR Speed, Ghost).

The spacing between the screws will accommodate a 1.75" belt.

boss-tek-lok-medium.png

The Blade-Tech Tek-Lok Belt Mount is a great Quick Detach option.

These mounts are adjustable and can accommodate 1.25"-2" belts

We generally recommend going with the 1/4" offset spacer option with this mount.

The Comp-Tac PLM Belt Mount is a great Quick Detach option.

These mounts are adjustable and can accommodate 1.25"-2" belts

We generally recommend going with the 1/4" offset spacer option with this mount

boss-qls-medium.png

The Safariland QLS Belt Mount work with the QLS Receiver.

You can quickly swap holsters when using the Safariland QLS system. This option includes the fork only.

We generally recommend going with the 1/4" offset spacer option with this mount

Which Offset length should I choose?

This refers to the length of the spacers between the long Boss plate and the Y-Plate that attaches to the holster. The 1/2" spacers are a pretty safe bet for most firearms out there to keep you within the rules for USPSA.

If you go with one of the options mounts (Tek-Lok, PLM, ELS) we would recommend choosing the 1/4" spacers to keep your holster within the rules for USPSA.

We have seen the 3/4" work well for most models, and may work with Tek-Lok & PLM mounts.

We have found the 1" spacers to work with most models but you should measure your setup to insure it falls within the USPSA rules.

You can always just buy the Spacer Hardware Kit here and try the other options.

How to do mount a Safariland QLS Fork or Receiver?

The versatile Boss Holster Hanger is designed to offer multiple mounting options for the Safariland QLS system. It facilitates the attachment of the Safariland QLS Fork to the long plate that is included in the kit, thereby eliminating the need for any additional parts or unique configurations.

For those seeking a flexible mounting solution that allows for easy swapping of holsters while keeping the hanger firmly attached to your belt, we offer the Safariland Y-Plate option. With this, you can conveniently mount the Safariland QLS Receiver to the Y-Plate, as demonstrated in the photographs below.

This powerful combination of utility and adaptability makes the Boss Holster Hanger an essential tool for enhancing your holster mounting experience.

    Very good product

Posted by Unknown on May 9th 2017

Just like a previous reviewer, the only issues I can find are 1. make the spacers from a bit harder material. 2. Include different size spacers. I needed to order the 3/4" spacers afterwards. Fortunately, I was making another order anyway.

    Good product

Posted by Jonas on Apr 26th 2017

Overall good and solid great range of adjustability. I would suggest to make the spacers from a bit harder material. If tightening the adjustment screws solidly the spacers slightly compress. I would also suggest to supply the kit with a couple of different spacer lenghts since we all prefer to have a little bit different angles. I solved this by using regular washers to adjust the spacer lengths. The quality generally speaking is really good. With some small tweaks i would give it full score.

    The BOSS hanger works!

Posted by JS Ragman on Jan 15th 2017

I have used the DOS that you can get from Blade-tec. While it works OK, there is too much flex in it. The BOSS hanger is very rigid and keeps your pistol in exactly the same position every time. It was very easy to set up. I highly recommend this hanger for your holster.

    Perfect Attachment for Com-Tec Holsters

Posted by Rick on Nov 22nd 2016

The hardware worked perfectly with the Com-Tec Holster I have. I had to look at the previous unit I bought before hand to use as a guide to assemble the unit. It was not to difficult to figure out and when completed it made drawing the weapon easy as grease on a stuck bolt. Did you ever think of a unit for open guns? I know I would buy one in a New York minute.

    My Second one

    Posted by jdwoods714@aol.com on Oct 26th 2016

I bought my first one for USPSA SS and this one was for USPSA production. I am using blade tech holsters for both. I found they increase the stability of the holster and in my opinion the draw is much more consistant.
