What are the differences in the Belt Mount Options?

What are the differences in the Belt Mount Options?

We offer a few options for belt mounts on the Boss holster. The standard aluminum belt plate will come with all of the holsters regardless if you choose one of the options mounts. Something to consider if you go with a non-standard belt mount you may want to go with a shorter Offset Spacer like the 1/4" to stay withing the USPSA rules.

The Boss Standard Belt Mount is included with all orders.

This belt plate is cut for a standard 1.5" competition belt (DAA, CR Speed, Ghost).

The spacing between the screws will accommodate a 1.75" belt.

The Blade-Tech Tek-Lok Belt Mount is a great Quick Detach option.

These mounts are adjustable and can accommodate 1.25"-2" belts

We generally recommend going with the 1/4" offset spacer option with this mount.

The Comp-Tac PLM Belt Mount is a great Quick Detach option.

These mounts are adjustable and can accommodate 1.25"-2" belts

We generally recommend going with the 1/4" offset spacer option with this mount

boss-qls-medium.png

The Safariland QLS Belt Mount work with the QLS Receiver.

You can quickly swap holsters when using the Safariland QLS system. This option includes the fork only.

We generally recommend going with the 1/4" offset spacer option with this mount

Which Offset length should I choose?

This refers to the length of the spacers between the long Boss plate and the Y-Plate that attaches to the holster. The 1/2" spacers are a pretty safe bet for most firearms out there to keep you within the rules for USPSA.

If you go with one of the options mounts (Tek-Lok, PLM, ELS) we would recommend choosing the 1/4" spacers to keep your holster within the rules for USPSA.

We have seen the 3/4" work well for most models, and may work with Tek-Lok & PLM mounts.

We have found the 1" spacers to work with most models but you should measure your setup to insure it falls within the USPSA rules.

You can always just buy the Spacer Hardware Kit here and try the other options.

How to do mount a Safariland QLS Fork or Receiver?

The versatile Boss Holster Hanger is designed to offer multiple mounting options for the Safariland QLS system. It facilitates the attachment of the Safariland QLS Fork to the long plate that is included in the kit, thereby eliminating the need for any additional parts or unique configurations.

For those seeking a flexible mounting solution that allows for easy swapping of holsters while keeping the hanger firmly attached to your belt, we offer the Safariland Y-Plate option. With this, you can conveniently mount the Safariland QLS Receiver to the Y-Plate, as demonstrated in the photographs below.

This powerful combination of utility and adaptability makes the Boss Holster Hanger an essential tool for enhancing your holster mounting experience.

    Buy it Now

I purchased a plastic hanger and it kept flexing when I would draw. I stumbled on this hanger and decided to buy it. My holster doesn't move at all now. There's no worries that I need to draw at a weird angle so the hanger doesn't flex. This is a great product and it's well worth the price.

    Absolutely the best!

Posted by JanetL on Feb 5th 2018

The hanger is completely rigid and stays that way. There's no struggling with a holster that moves around and hinders drawing or reholstering. The draw is effortless and as fast as your muscles can move. I have three, one for each competition rig I use, and I wouldn't bother with anything else. You will never regret buying the BOSS.

    SOLID

Posted by Unknown on Feb 5th 2018

I received this the day before a match. It took me about 1 hour to get it mounted and adjusted on my belt. It was an item that disappeared on match day. It worked flawlessly. It is a solid mount and very well made. I will not have to buy anything to replace it.

    greateast set up ever

I’ve been eyeing this bad boy for a while and I mean a while. And man was it worth every dollar I spent on it. It’s sturdy , holds tight , keeps your holster is the same place and even falls under the stupid rules of idpa and you can position it in a endless amount of ways. This was by far some of the best money I have spent on a competitive shooting product besides obviously the guns.

    What a Diffrence

Posted by Tony on Jan 7th 2018

The fit and finish is fantastic. I’m using it on a Blade-Tech Holster. It fits perfect, the drop-offset is spot on. I’m using this with my USPSA Limited Pistol. As soon as I installed the mount, my draw improved. I order a second one the next day. Thanks

    Solid Versatile Mount

Posted by Erik Schetina on Dec 31st 2017

I was using the Blade Tech DOH hanger and found it angled the butt of the gun away from me, but also was not a very solid mount. I switched to the Boss and I have to say the mount is solid and versatile. First, the mounting plate itself sits right against my outer hip/thigh, so when I come down on the draw it's like the holster is screwed into my side, with absolutely no movement of the grip. Next, the adjustable cant allowed me to position the gun such that I no longer get hung up on the small beavertail of my M&P. Overall, this is exactly what I was looking for in a DOH mount. Awesome!

Buy it and profit from it!

Posted by Vince on Dec 8th 2017

Well made, solid and sturdy, turns the holster platform from a weakness to a strength. Very adjustable to how you want it, when all set and screwed down, this bad boy doesn't go anywhere! If you make any changes to your setup, The BOSS should be #1 on your list. I moved from a Bladetech DOH to The BOSS Hanger with a double layer Red Hill Tactical holster. Also switched from a High Torque CR Speed belt to the DAA Premium belt at the same time and I feel like a shooter reborn with all this new gear!

    Just buy it

Skip the plastic drop offset mounts, buy the best and you won’t regret it. The consistency the BOSS hanger facilitates is immediately obvious.

    Does exactly what I needed

Posted by Drew on Dec 1st 2017

This is a very solidly built product that did what i needed to - it gave me customization and control over the height and cant of my holster so that I can tune it to my needs for USPSA. I would highly recommend this to someone shooting USPSA.

Forget the bladetech DOH attachment. This is very nice product, well worth the money and the customer service is great and the shipping is fast. My only gripe is the supplied screws to attach the holster to the belt are a little short for my double alpha but not the end of the world, screws are cheap, go get longer ones to initially clamp it on your belt then replace the longer ones you bought with the supplied shorter ones one at a time so they don’t stick out the other side.
