What are the differences in the Belt Mount Options?

What are the differences in the Belt Mount Options?

We offer a few options for belt mounts on the Boss holster. The standard aluminum belt plate will come with all of the holsters regardless if you choose one of the options mounts. Something to consider if you go with a non-standard belt mount you may want to go with a shorter Offset Spacer like the 1/4" to stay withing the USPSA rules.

The Boss Standard Belt Mount is included with all orders.

This belt plate is cut for a standard 1.5" competition belt (DAA, CR Speed, Ghost).

The spacing between the screws will accommodate a 1.75" belt.

The Blade-Tech Tek-Lok Belt Mount is a great Quick Detach option.

These mounts are adjustable and can accommodate 1.25"-2" belts

We generally recommend going with the 1/4" offset spacer option with this mount.

The Comp-Tac PLM Belt Mount is a great Quick Detach option.

These mounts are adjustable and can accommodate 1.25"-2" belts

We generally recommend going with the 1/4" offset spacer option with this mount

boss-qls-medium.png

The Safariland QLS Belt Mount work with the QLS Receiver.

You can quickly swap holsters when using the Safariland QLS system. This option includes the fork only.

We generally recommend going with the 1/4" offset spacer option with this mount

Which Offset length should I choose?

This refers to the length of the spacers between the long Boss plate and the Y-Plate that attaches to the holster. The 1/2" spacers are a pretty safe bet for most firearms out there to keep you within the rules for USPSA.

If you go with one of the options mounts (Tek-Lok, PLM, ELS) we would recommend choosing the 1/2" spacers to keep your holster within the rules for USPSA.

We have seen the 3/4" work well for most models, and may work with Tek-Lok & PLM mounts.

We have found the 1" spacers to work with most models but you should measure your setup to insure it falls within the USPSA rules.

You can always just buy the Spacer Hardware Kit here and try the other options.

How to do mount a Safariland QLS Fork or Receiver?

The versatile Boss Holster Hanger is designed to offer multiple mounting options for the Safariland QLS system. It facilitates the attachment of the Safariland QLS Fork to the long plate that is included in the kit, thereby eliminating the need for any additional parts or unique configurations.

For those seeking a flexible mounting solution that allows for easy swapping of holsters while keeping the hanger firmly attached to your belt, we offer the Safariland Y-Plate option. With this, you can conveniently mount the Safariland QLS Receiver to the Y-Plate, as demonstrated in the photographs below.

This powerful combination of utility and adaptability makes the Boss Holster Hanger an essential tool for enhancing your holster mounting experience.

Good adjustment options, finish is fragile

Posted by RM on Apr 19th 2019

Overall the number of options for the hangar is good. The finish is a bit fragile though. I brushed the hangar by accident with the tip of my screwdriver. It was barely any force but it put a nice scratch in the finish. It isn't visible but the finish is not very durable.

    Just Awesome!

Posted by Ryan Dodsworth on Apr 19th 2019

Being a new USPSA shooter and just getting my gear choices made I was a little skeptical this would be that huge of an improvement over the standard hanger my Comp-Tac holster. The factory hanger felt pretty stable but after seeing so many people talk about the BOSS I went for it. I have no problem saying that I was completely wrong. This product is far more stable making draws extremely repeatable. There is far less flex and the firearm stays exactly where you expect it to be during the whole process. So far my time has been spent in dry fire and personal practice at the range testing my rig. This weekend will be my fist match and running the BOSS has me feeling pretty good about it.

An innovative add-on for your Holster

Posted by Rhex Arboleda (Shooter Rx) on Feb 21st 2019

I’m very impressed by the design of the BOSS hanger. There are lots of options the ability to drop off set and angle your gun for a cant. I also decided to use the PLM attachment that makes it very easy to attach and detached the entire holster from my belt.

    Just what I needed

Thank you. A great product. My blade tech doh was pointing towards my leg. This hangar keeps it straight pointing down. Very sturdy. I put my blade tech tec lock on it. It's not as sturdy as what came with this hangar though. I'll probably change it. Thanks again.

    Very sturdy

I'm using a comptac holster, and there DOS adapter, 2 things that annoyied me was it felt flimsy, and the barrel would angle into my leg. Both of these have been rectified with the Boss.

Great product. Any serious competitor should have one. Stoeger pro shop ships quick, always satisfied. Prefer giving my dough to Ben than any other source. Huge fan.
